Born Free is a special V&A Friday Late interactive exchange showcasing British art and design in partnership with PlayStation Portable.
Bring your own PSP or try one for the night. Download special material including the animate! All-Stars Mash-Up devised by Fay Milton of Buzzard Buzzard for the recent Halloween Short Film Festival at the ICA, featuring the work of Kayla Parker, Gary Carpenter, Tim Webb, Tim Macmillan, John Parry and Ian Cross, music by Search & Destroy.
Six animate! commissions Hypnomart, Jukebox, Miles from Anywhere, Scrutiny, SKZCP and Sunset Strip play in the cinema, plus a half-hour programme of raw and rhythmic grime DVD docs culled fresh from East London by filmmaker Lucia Helenka. All gift-wrapped in a live set by street soul vocalist Alex Mills with DJ Target, and Search & Destroy.
The Born Free evening also offers an interactive environment (Jason Bruges Studio), surreal mind games (Intro), a literary trail (Zembla Magazine), late bar & food - and of course an opportunity to tour the magnificent museum.
